When I was in Ullapool in October, I actually ended up visiting the gallery for An Talla Solais four times, and on one occasion I was able to meet with Charlotte who runs Cabinet, the attached shop.
Whereas when I visited in March I was carrying samples that had been taken elsewhere, on this trip I had a number of prints of photographs from that March trip, again printed on Canson-Infinity PrintMaking Rag, half-size. When I showed these new prints to Charlotte, she chose 6 to stock in the shop (and liked the half-size). Wow!I was carrying twelve in two bags, so they weren’t ready to go on sale, and we agreed they not only each needed their own bags, but also a mat and a backing board. I wasn’t able to work this out while I was still in the UK.When I got home, it took a while to decide on a mat size that worked well with the print size, and for which there were clear bags available. They all needed to ordered and assembled, and into the mail. For some reason Royal Mail thought it should go from London Heathrow to Wracow in Poland and back to Heathrow before heading to Scotland. Finally, as of today, I am very pleased to be able to say that you can go into Cabinet on West Argyll Street in Ullapool and buy one (or more) of my prints!
