I was very pleased to learn that two of my large, unframed prints sold at the opening reception for the Michigan Artists sale at Kerrytown Concert House last Thursday. The prints sold were The point of the waves and Dovecote at Cotehole, and the two prints were both bought by the local library. As long as I can remember they have had prints available for lending, but I get the impression they have recently fine tuned what they are about, from “lending books” to “lending”. Certainly they have not only moved the prints downstairs onto the first floor, but also a whole array of curious musical and scientific and who knows what equipment. For instance, a month or so ago I was digging self-seeding trees out of the back garden and my Japanese weeding knife just disappeared. On a visit to the library I discovered they had metal detectors; I took one home and it took about two minutes to find the knife, oddly buried under some old humus by the fence. Now I can look forward to seeing my prints when I walk into the library and hopefully many people will enjoy them.
I replaced the “Point of the waves” with another print and and added a print of “Roses close to the top #1″ which you see here.
